Physics actor snaps upwards on collision?

Hi, hard to find a way to put this in words for searches and explanations, when I use the UE4 sedan vehicle or enable physics for my player character, some times the character will snap upwards after a physical collision with destructible meshes or other actors.

For example, my player character needs to get inside a vehicle - but sometimes the vehicle will go flying at the smallest touch of contact. I also get mass and intertia errors that revert the settings back to 1, does anyone know where and how to alter the settings so there is not a drastic pushback against my physics actors?
