Autosave keeps crashing on startup?

So, I’ve been working on a project for the past week, and it regularly autosaves. Last night I spent over 6 hours working on it, and finally finished with my work, I hit “Save All” multiple times to guarantee it saved. (it was about 4AM at this time) So today, I go onto Unreal Engine and try to launch the project and for some reason it launches the first person template file, so i thought it was pretty funny and everytime I tried to launch the project, it would launch a save file from 4/1/2014, and when I navigated to my file in MyDocuments, the last save for some reason was on 4/1/2014?! So I hurried to the autosave folder and luckily, the autosave had a save file from 4/17/2014 at 4AM the last time I saved, so I thought I was in the clear, but every time I launch the map, my Unreal Engine 4 crashes. Is there anything I can do?

Send help please! It was a huge project and I need it soon!
A log file wasnt generated on crash, but a dump file was so here it is along with my DxDiag

What about the Backup folder? Do you have anything saved there and do they crash as well?

Thanks for the speedy reply, Jacky. Yes, in the backup folder under MyProject->Saved->Backup, is where the last autosave is. I tried loading the most recent autosave (The Autosave from 4AM) and that crashed as well as the 4AM autosave under the Temp folder.

I cant upload the log file because its extension is .log
I could open it up in notepad and copy/paste the info onto the hub, but I’m sure the character count would inhibit that as well.

A broken asset? Well, I know that something was going wrong with my MatineeActor before and I did introduce a new material into my content browser, so I’m guessing that one of those assets is the reason for the crash, but how would I get rid of any instances of those two assets so I can try to work around the crash?

Its worth a shot, I’m trying it now as we speak and I’ll provide feedback within minutes.

Well the only thing i can suggest right now is to check every asset you used and see if any of them is broken for some reason. It may be that there is a broken asset in the map and that’s causing the crash. Wish you had kept at least 2 different save files. :\

Also, cant you upload the log text file when you click Attachment button on top?(log file from Saved > Logs folder)

It woudlnt promise a fix, but if you can find the broken asset and remove it from the content folder, then maybe you get only a warning regarding the asset’s existence instead of a crash when you try to open the map. I dont think it will help at all if something was wrong with the Matinee actor and Level Blueprint though since you can only control them in level.

Okay, so I tried deleting assets and matinee actor and reloading the level that keeps crashing and it crashed again. So I went into the log text file and scrolled to the bottom to find info on the reason of the crash and I found this when trying to load the GoodHouse_Auto4 which is the file that keeps crashing

I’m out of ideas mate. :\ How did you delete the matinee actor? And where is the autosave located in the computer exactly? The directory in the log looks weird.

Epic staff will be more helpful than me obviously, and they are working really hard to answer everyone’s questions. So you’ll just have to wait i’m afraid. In any case, good luck and dont forget to create multiple save files in the future!(i did the same mistake with several other programs in the past so i know the pain!)

Well, I deleted it in the content browser when I opened a different level within the same project. When I open my GoodHouse project, the first person template always opens, and so I usually click File → Open Level → and click my GoodHouse level, which is the level I’ve been working on.
So when I open my GoodHouse project, the first person template opens and i deleted all of the instances of the materials and matinee actors from the content browser by clicking them and pressing the delete key then I attempted to open the GoodHouse level autosave thats located in
“C:\Users\Chuck\Documents\Unreal Projects\GoodHouse\Saved\Autosaves\Game\Maps\GoodHouse_Auto4.umap”

Is there anyone else you can call in to take a look at this issue?
Because in all actuality, all I need is the geometry and relative position and placement of the geometry from the project file so I can start a new project, but keep the meshes I’ve already placed inside. I dont need the matinee actors, not the materials, just the geometry and I can fix whats missing. Is there a way to receive that data?

and so we play the waiting game…

I opened a clean project file and closed it, and opened the same clean project file and tried to open the level that causes the crash, and by doing this I was able to find in the log text file where the error begins. Instead of the code:

[2014.04.19-04.10.35:253][968]Cmd: QUIT_EDITOR
[2014.04.19-04.10.35:283][968]LogExit: Preparing to exit.
