Is it possible to make something unselectable in viewport? [RESOLVED]

RESOLVED!

Quick question, is it possible to specify an object to be unselectable in the viewport? For instance, I have some large fog layers in my scene which makes selecting other objects very difficult because the fog always gets selected first. It would make things much easier if I could ignore these types of objects while working in the viewport.

Thanks!

If those fog layers are particle effects, you can disable translucency selection from Quick Settings drop down menu.

Yes this does it.
I was also able to add the objects to a layer and hide them. However your tip still allows me to see the effect and not select it, which is better. Thank you!
