Huge performance drop when EVGA Precision is running

Hello Epic,

When EVGA Precision X is running, i have huge fps drop in Unreal Editor. In a blank scene with absolutely nothing, i get 120 fps with EVGA Precision closed but when its running i get around 20 to 30 fps. In my game project where i have assets and all that it drops to 3 to 5 fps.

Another thing is in my blank project the fps drops only when mouse is hovering over any buttons (like the toolbar buttons, menu items etc).

Note that i have Precision installed via Steam.

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Driver: 353.82

4.10 Preview 1 also has this issue.

Hi ryanjon2040,

EVGA Precision X is a known software conflict. Thank you for reporting this though.

-.

Thank you .

Sorry to revive this old thread, I was just wondering if these software conflicts exist in any form with shipped Unreal 4 games? I’ve had to downgrade to an older version of EVGA Precision to continue using the editor, so can’t easily check myself if running the newer version causes issues when playing actually released Unreal Engine 4 titles.

If you are just monitoring GPU temperatures then I strongly suggest to uninstall Precision and install MSI Afterburner. I am using that since I asked this question and have no problems at all.

Ditto. I use Afterburner at home. I understand that some people will use EVGA Precision X, but that’s something you’ll likely need to make clear to your community. From what I remember, this is not something we can resolve on our end.
