Is it possible to change 'rename' on Mac to be the return key rather than f2?

On the Mac, renaming an asset’s shortcut should be the return key (like in finder) at the moment it is F2 which is a Windows thing.

Kind of, on the mac, opening a file is cmd+o (or probably cmd+e) so yes that would also need re-mapping.

Then you’d need a shortcut to open the file

Ya totally agree with this. This is a workflow drain. Imagine being on Windows and you were told to use enter to rename files, you’d have a kitten. Same, but in reverse for OSX.

I find I can do this in most places but not in the content browser. Its the lack of consistency that is annoying. I can now rename with enter in the Scene Outliner but if I select and asset in Content Browser and press enter it opens the edit window

Good point. We will change defaults on Mac. In a meantime, you can go to Editor Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts and bind Rename to Enter.

Thanks Michael just wanted to say as mentioned above it seems remapping doesn’t work for the Content Browser?

Thanks Michael!!! Yeah same here. Looks like the content browser is a separate mapping?

Oh, it doesn’t? That’s probably a bug. I’ll investigate and get back to you.
