Do different Android devices return motion detection differently?

Greetings,

I have been working on an Android game for some time with my friend and we are having some trouble with the tile controls. Our main issue at hand is it seems that the way the game responds on his device and the way the game responds on my device are very different things. Is this possible? When we view the values coming out of “Android Tilt Conversion” and tilt the device to the extreme (any cardinal direction) the values returned by the two devices are very different. Any insight provided would be most helpful!
