Hi folks,
So since my question was flat out ignored (or no one actually knows) on the official Unreal Tournament forums regarding the implementation of characters into said game, I thought I’d ask here instead.
Now I have a few things that I tend to struggle figuring out, and how to actually get the character into the game itself. I have my character, she is rigged, animated etc, all I need to know is, how exactly do I get the character to work in-game. The technical side, blueprints, classes that sort of thing.
How can I make the character selectable by the player and actually play with the character?
What should I be doing with the assets once I have them in the editor?
What class am I supposed to use to create a new blueprint in order to get the character in-game?
That said, I want to know if custom skeletons can be used, or are we forced to use a specific Skeleton. Now in UE4 itself it is really easy to replace the Blue guy, however I’ve noticed a lot has changed between UE4 itself, and UT’s editor. So far I haven’t been able to get the character to work, or find any sort of help or documentation on how one can get your own character into UT pre-alpha and not into UE4.
That said, here is a preview of the character I want to add. I know how to get custom models, cosmetics etc into the editor, and finally into the game. However for the characters there isn’t much information on the technical side of getting a character into UT pre-alpha, not UE4.
I’d love to be able to add my own character into the game, and seeing as I’ve already added a few custom cosmetics and my own map (DM-Deck67), it would be nice to play as a unique character of my own.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
