Editor cannot open Blueprint Editor

I can’t seem to open the static mesh editor, cascade, blueprints… anything. When I attempt to open some asset, it claims to open, I get a new window tab down in my taskbar but if I mouse over the stack of Unreal tasks the group shows a small image of the Editor and a blank (clear view) like it’s still trying to load in or something. I’ve left it up for a while assuming it was only loading and nothing appeared even after about 30 minutes (tempted to leave it up overnight as a final test).

I’ve tried restarting my tower, verifying the Engine, and reinstalling the Engine. I don’t seem to get any crash errors or bug codes anywhere that I can find, it just never actually shows me the new window. I’ve even tried each of my projects loaded on this computer and they all display the same trait. It worked just fine during the Epic Mega Jam and for about a week afterwards as I fixed minor bugs, so it’s a fairly recent problem.

Are there any other things I can try? any hidden qualities of the engine I might be able to check if they somehow got disabled?

edit: I have also tried 4.2 which also worked just fine like a month ago when I was updating an older project.

update: 4.2 worked after a while. Going to just leave this running overnight then in 4.9 and see if it’s just being incredibly slow for some reason.

I found the issue. I have no clue how or why it happened since I always have my blueprints maximized. When I tried to mimic it, the window can only be reduced to the height of the title bar. Somehow my blueprint editor had only a one-pixel height.

how did you fix it??

nvm i also found it, i am using window 10, how i do it??

i hover my mouse on the unreal editor icons
when i saw the blueprint editor i go move my mouse on the editor first
and slowly move to the right side ( if you dont do this it will dissapear quickly) then i quickly press right on mouse

there will be a choice to minimize and maximize i press maximize and show the blueprint editor and everything is good after that

I apologize for not elaborating. I’m on Windows 7 at least in my instance when I realized the problem, the hotkey to maximize something is “Windows Key + Up Arrow”. Once it was re-maximized it reset to the normal window settings under other contexts. Though your method works as well.

Also another fix for this, for windows 10, if you’re opening your blueprint and nothing happens and if you mouse over your unreal engine icon at the taskbar and see your blueprint window, Right click it and goto maximize. Im using 4.8 as for now, but this was driving me crazy thinking i corrupted a blueprint.

THANK YOU!!!
