UE 4.9 Causes Computer to Shut Down

Hello,
When I first installed UE 4.9 a week ago, I could run a game in the editor without worries or problems. However, after my AMD video card drivers updated as well as UE, the moment I clicked “play” or pressed escape after playing around in the test game for a bit, my computer would immediately shut down.

I’ve performed Windows Memory Diagnostic checks as well as monitoring CPU activity, temps, and memory. The CPU and Memory had no problem handling UE 4.9, so I suspect it has something to do with my video card. I tried overclocking but that made no difference. Is there any way I can optimize my video card so my PC does not immediately crash when I try to run a test game?

Hello Knightwing1197,

Just so I can get an overview of your entire setup, could you provide you dxdiag to ensure that the conflict doesn’t lie elsewhere? Ontop of that, can you attempt rolling back your drivers to see if the issue is driver related? This should help us begin to nail down where the issue lies.

We haven’t heard from you in a while, Knightwing1197. Are you still experiencing these issues? If not, can you explain what fixed it? In the meantime, I’ll be marking this issue as resolved for tracking purposes.
