Circular Content Browser Link

  1. I created a new Third Person Character C++ project.
  2. Added a new type of Pawn class under the directory path…
    C++ Classes/[GAME NAME]/Actors/Pawns
  3. Once the source code had compiled, I did not see the new folder structure appear. I clicked on C++ Classes to go up a folder. I then clicked on [GAME NAME] again to go back in.
  4. The “Actors” folder was there. Click on “Actors” folder icon and the Content Browser looks as if it is transferring folders (reloads the images, etc.), but I end up in the same folder with my mouse over “Actors”. Successive clicks do not solve the problem.

This only happened in one instance, however, as when I opened up the sidebar directory list, manually entered into the Actors folder from there, and then went back out again and clicked on the folder icon in the Browser space, everything worked fine.

Hey -

I notice that if you are in the C++ Classes/[project name] folder, adding deeper folders during class creation does not show the folder in the main CB window however it does appear in the folder hierarchy to the left. Leaving the C++ Classes/[project name] folder and returning will show other subfolders (as you mentioned) but navigating into these subfolders worked properly for me. Since you were able to work around the issue, let me know if you encounter it again and if you’re able to easily reproduce it.

Cheers

Hey -

We’ve not heard back from you in a few days. I will be marking this as resolved for tracking purposes however if you are still having issues with the Content Browser folder structure not responding properly feel free to reopen the post with a comment along with any additional information you can provide to help with reproducing the issue on my end.

Cheers
