Why am I getting this error? (Unknown exception - code 00000001)

Hello,

I am currently working on a project that’s on a different computer than the one I usually use, and when I bring my project folder over to this computer, and try to open it I get this error every time it reaches 95%. I’m not really a programmer, so I am stumped as to what to do to fix this. And please let me know if any additional information is needed. (Also I may not be able to troubleshoot until later, I just wanted to try and figure out what the deal is before I try and work on it again). Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi Tyjack,

We have a ticket in with what appears to be the same call stack with UE-16210, but I’m not seeing anyone in the crash reporter that shows this happening past 4.7.6., even though you’re apparently getting the crash in 4.8.

When this ticket was submitted there also was not any specific information on how to reproduce the crash.

So from you I’ll need the following:

  • When the crash reporter window comes up, I’ll need your Machine ID and Epic ID that are at the top of the call stack.
  • When you get the crash reporter window to pop up. Make sure that you hit “SEND”. If you don’t I can’t look at the crash in our system and see if there are other users out there that may have the same issue.
  • In your project folder zip up the Saved > Logs Folder.

Beyond that, you can also try going to your Project Folder and Delete or move the Config and Intermediate folders out of the Project folder. Then try and load the project. There could be something there that is causing a reference to something else that it cannot locate, like the DDC for the project and cause an issue. It’s a shot in the dark, but it has resolved some other projects issues in the past, so at least worth a try.

Let me know.

Tim

Tim,

Thank you for the reply. I actually was able to resolve the problem by updating to version 4.10. Not sure if it was an issue with 4.8, or if it was a bad install, but updating fixed the problem. Also, thanks for the suggestions on how to fix this. If it ends up happening again, I’ll have to try what you recommend (and sorry for not including all the information, I’ll be sure to do that next time). Thanks for the help.
