Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Hi terids,

  • Does this occur to a clean, blank project with no additional content or is it limited to one project?

  • What was the last thing you added to the project before the crash started occurring?

  • Did it crash while in editor, then you couldn't open it or did it work fine, you closed the project normally, and then this behavior began?

  • Can you post the crash logs here so I can take a look? They can be found at \Unreal Projects\PROJECTNAME\saved\logs.

  • If you remove your contents folder from your project filepath, are you able to open the project normally or does it continue to crash?

  • Are you opening the project from the launcher or from a .exe?

  • Is this a blueprint or a c++ project?

Hi Adam,

  • It was a C++ project that I was working on for a few days.

  • The last thing I was working on was mouse-over events for objects in the scene in the C++ code (I didn't have this working properly on my last exit, so i suspect it's to do with this).

  • The editor closed down correctly the last time I was working on it, but upon trying to open the project again, the editor just crashes.

  • I was opening it from the launcher.

  • Sorry, but I can't help with the last points. I decided to delete the project and UE4.9 and download 4.10 instead to start fresh. I was posting this to report the bug but I now realise I have deleted everything prematurely which probably doesn't help you guys at all.

You can close this thread as I have started over with UE4.10. Sorry about that!

I will mark this as answered by request for tracking purposes. If you experience this error again in 4.10, please feel free to post here with updated information and I'll be happy to take another look.
