Mac CrashReportClient cannot quit

Unreal Engine 4.9.2 - Mac 10.10.4

In link:THIS QUESTION I always get a crash when I Launch my project. I can close the CrashReportClient window but the process cannot be Quit. I have to press Cmd+Opt+Esc and Force Quit to actually close the dangling un-quitable CrashReportClient.

Hi SeaChipmunk,

I’ve read through your response to the linked question and am sorry to hear you are having such difficulties. For a trouble shooting step (not as a solution) please open a blank Third Person Blueprint template project. Without doing anything else, simply Play in New Editor Window. Press the tilde ~ key to bring up the Console Command. Type: “debug crash” to cause the editor to crash. Does the editor “hang” like it does when it crashes on your project?

If it does not, then there is something in your project causing your Mac to hang. If it does, then there is a problem with your Mac running the editor. In order to narrow this down we need the following information:

  1. Please list your sytem specs.
  2. We also need the following information from the “System Report:” Apple menu >About This Mac > System Report>Hardware (All information listed in the “Hardware Overview.”) You can cut and paste this information or provide screen shots, whichever is more convenient.
  3. When the actual crash occurs (not the debug crash) please select “Copy Callstack to the Clipboard” and paste that information in a document and add to this post (This should include your Machine ID at the top)
  4. Have you been hitting submit in the crash reporter -before closing the window but before the editor hangs? (So we can cross reference crash data from similar users)
  5. Approximately how much Hard drive space on your system?

Please supply this information at your earliest convenience so that we can provide accurate support.

Thank you,

Since we have not heard back from you in a while, I am closing this post for tracking purposes. However, if you are still having an issue with the Crash Reporter not quitting, please respond with the requested information and we will continue to investigate the issue.

Thanks,

.
