Crash while clicking Actor in Paused PIE ( WidgetComponent)

I’m getting this crashes several times every hour. I’m wondering if this is a known issue or have a workaround. It seems to be happening while click on an actor with widget blueprint while paused in PIE.

Hello,

I have looked into your issue, but have not been able to reproduce the crash. I added two buttons and an image to an actor blueprint. I paused my PIE, clicked on one of the buttons while it was paused, but the crash did not occur.
I have a few questions that could help me reproduce your issue:

  • Can you reproduce the crash in a new project?
  • Are you using a build from source or the launcher build of 4.10?
  • If the project crashes again, can you copy the Machine ID from the Crash Reporter window, and ensure that you send the Crash Report?
  • If you can reproduce the crash in a new project, could you provide a zipped up version of that project and upload it to Dropbox so I can have a look at exactly what is causing the issue?
    Thank you.
  1. I can consistently produce this in my own project , it seems to be causing this crash when I do stuff that relates to widgetcomponent being turned on/off visibility while ejecting/repossessing into char. I still have yet to try it on a blank project. At the moment i’m trying to narrow downt he cause.

  2. I’m using launcher build.

  3. Machine ID is here. Report is sent

    EpicAccountId:a14591dc1d3a41d0b2ae84b945d974d7

  1. Project size is very large. Let me see if i can downsize it while maintaining the bug.

To clarify, you haven’t been able to reproduce this in a clean project? If you are able to provide me with either a project where the issue is occurring or steps that I can use to reproduce the issue, I will be able to look further into this issue. Thank you.

No i haven’t got a chance to do it in a clean project. I will drop information here when i get the chance to do it. It takes some time to open a new project to replicate the issue.

Hello Frozenfire,

I am marking this thread as resolved for tracking purposes. When you have had the chance to attempt to reproduce the issue in a clean project, you can post your findings here and we will be able to continue investigating the issue.

Have a great day,
