So many errors/bugs since 4.10 [Resolved]

I am not sure if I am just unlucky or what, but I have ran into countless errors since 4.10 came out.

Error 1: Adding a C++ UserWidget to a project causes it to fail hot reload and not compile.

Error 2: I actually thought I knew a second error, but apparently even following this tutorial A new, community-hosted Unreal Engine Wiki - Announcements - Epic Developer Community Forums doesn’t work.

Error 3: Seemingly at random projects will have issues opening up saying the .dll is wrong or missing. Even if I delete the .sln or binary files and try to compile again this doesn’t usually get fixed, but one of my projects (I had 2-3 with this error) somehow did get fixed and it actually compiled. The strange part is that these were almost 100% clean copies of the example projects when you make a new project.

For the past 3 days I haven’t been able to do anything in 4.10 because literally everything breaks the projects. I have verified my UE install. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio. I am using Visual Studio 2015. All I am able to do is edit things inside of the editor, and sometimes even that breaks it (missing .dll error that won’t compile).

Am I just unlucky or is this build really buggy? I know this is free right now and I really do appreciate Epic’s engine and want to use it… but I can’t even do anything with it. My last hope is to uninstall UE and reinstall it.

I am not posting this as a low blow to Epic’s efforts. I really want to know why I am having constant errors. Edit: For clarification I only ran into ONE constant bug that caused 4.9.2 to crash and I had been using it for almost 2 weeks. I didn’t have any of these problems before upgrading to 4.10.

Update: Uninstalling UE 4.9.2 and 4.10, then re-installing 4.10 seems to have worked.

Hi PappySnail.

This “Bug Reports” section of the UE4 Answerhub exists for you to report bugs that you have discovered directly to Epic Games for investigation. We ask that you only report one issue per post so that we can focus our investigations and responses, and that you include information such as reproduction steps so that Epic can also experience the issue.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with 4.10, although the fact that it is reporting dll issues indicates that there is some issue with the installation on your system (perhaps even a Windows or Visual Studio installation issue) and not a bug with the UE4 software itself. Again, if you can separate and focus your reports, Epic can investigate the potential issues. Your post as it currently stands may get a better response on the UE4 Forums for community discussion.

Cheers.
