Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

It's possible to load an Asset of a previous version to the current version?

I'm already installing this wonderful engine right now, and I seen that some of the "Free Assets" are incompatible with the current version of the engine. Is there a way to load or use the Assets that were made for previous versions of UE? All help will be appreciated! Thanks!

1 answer: sort voted first

Looks like this was asked a couple of years ago. But will add an answer if anyone happen to end up here in the future:

Yes, in general assets from a previous version of UE can be used in a newer version. But not the other way around. Meshes, textures, materials and art should work without any problems. Blueprints on the other hand might be troublesome to use right away since nodes changes names, gets replaced by other nodes and so on. So in order to get blueprints working in a newer version might require a bit of tinkering. Thou it's absolutely possible :)

Cheers!
