Combining Meshes?

Ok so I have a 3d modern house model. In that model, there are door where you can enter inside. The problem is that when i import the model, everything is one mesh. I cannot separate the doors from the rest of the house. Now if i uncheck combine meshes, everything is separated in the sense that i have to build THE ENTIRE HOUSE AGAIN. This is very inconvenient. Is there any way to separate certain parts of my house model?

The program I use is blender.

Hello nerdares,

What you can do is import the main parts of the house that you don’t want to move as one mesh using the combine mesh feature. Then the parts you want to move you can import them separately. This way you can manipulate what you want to move and manipulate them further. I.E. if you had a door that needed to be slanted like it was starting to warp, or coming off of it’s hinges. There is not currently a function to combine or separate selected .fbx’s on import. This is due in large part to the ways bounds/collision/LOD’s and other functions are calculated within UE4.
