Launcher can't connect to the server

When 4.10 came out, I was able to run launcher, have it update itself, and I updated to 4.10.

Yesterday I opened launcher, entered credentials, but when I hit “Sign in” button launcher spit out error message that it can’t connect to the server. I disabled firewall, a/v, but it still couldn’t connect to the server.

Going offline works.

Here is the video (no sound):

Note: first time I type my actual password. Second time I type whatever.

Any ideas what’s happening all of a sudden?

Is the server down?

I think it has got to do with ip… certain ips are blacklisted (I donno why, maybe Epic has to ask its hosting service provider).
It is clear to me as when I cannot connect to the Epic server, I immediately changed my computer to use my cellphone’s hotspot (different isp from my home connection). And I can connect without any problem whatsoever. So it is clear, when I changed my isp, I can connect to Epic Server.

Wow, that’s kinda odd. I hope Epic will do something about it.

Hi Motorsep,

Try the troubleshooting steps in this section of the troubleshooting guide. If you have a firewall or any network monitoring software, please make sure that you all ow the following exception:

xmpp-service-prod.ol.epicgames.com port 5222

If nothing works, follow the steps here to generate your Debug Logs. Post them here, along with your Dxdiag/system specs.

Thanks. I will let you know if I am still having issues.

Today it started as if there were no problem (I didn’t do anything special to it).

Hi motorsep,

Any update?

Sort of. I had to set WAN rules in my firewall for the launcher to “unspecified” (instead of “Allow all (connections)”) and disable firewall when starting launcher.

That’s the only way I can get launcher starting/updating.
