Why does Marketplace shows "subscribe to download"?

I have just got a subscription, and downloaded the launcher from my account page, I 'm signed in to launcher, and downloaded and verified UE4 editor, but when I try to download samples from the marketplace , I see “Subscribe to download” button instead of “Buy”, which when clicked , opens the browser to my unrealengine.com account page.

Thanks for the help !!

Restart the launcher a couple of times and see if it helps? Sometimes it also cant see the downloaded content but gets fixed when you restart the launcher.

I believe this is my fault. :frowning: We had a bug introduced today for a short time today and you subscribed during that time window. I had to manually fix a few accounts and it looks like I unfortunately missed yours. I’ve since fixed it and if you restart the launcher you should be good to go. I’m really sorry this happened. We’ve learned some lessons today to prevent this kind of thing from happening in the future.

That made it work!!! Thanks

I can confirm that, but only if you choose version 4.1.0 of the game, if you choose 4.0.1 , you should be able to see the download button…
the version selector is located above “Free” above the “Subscribe to download” button

I’m seeing the same, but only on Strategy Game and Content Examples. Everything has come across fine with the update. I’ve restarted a few times to see if that fixed it, which it didn’t.

That is correct moejay. They do work if you select 4.0.2. I’m uninstalling 4.0.2. I’m installing 4.0.2 right now.

If you restart the launcher do you still see Subscribe To Download for the 4.1 versions of the content?

Yes, but it seems to have changed to Content Examples and Realistic Renderings now lol.

I’m not too worried right now. It would be nice if they worked but I know with 4.1.0 coming out today there’s probably a few glitches.

It’s now all fixed. Not sure what you did, but it seems to work now. Thank you.

Glad to hear it, thanks for being patient!

I was still having this problem, it probably started around the same time, but I expected it to fix itself.
What I did was just uninstall unreal engine and install it again, now everything works as it should.

Hi. I have the same problem. I subbed today and downloaded 4.3.0 Preview, but i can’t get anything from marketplace for 4.3 because it says "Subscribe to Download’.
P.S. After I subbed, I then canceled my subscription, but it said that I’ll still be able to get everything for a month…

Hi Rocketman,

I’m sorry you’re having this issue. Please try the following to see if this resolves the issue for you. You can find more information on Launcher related issues on our Wiki page for troubleshooting.

Possible solutions:

Close and restart the Launcher and/or your computer, please try waiting a few minutes before restarting. (this is the most common solution!)

Ensure that you are running as an administrator.

Ensure that you are not behind a proxy. If you are, add an exception for the Unreal Engine (or ask your IT department to do this).

If you are an existing user, make certain that you have not added any additional parameters to your Unreal Engine desktop shortcut (for instance, to opt into a Preview build).

If you have, remove this extra parameter and restart the Launcher.

Try switching your DNS Server.

If you continue to see a “Subscribe” button, please contact our Accounts Department at accounts@unrealengine.com and inform them of the issue. They can investigate if your account is setup correctly.

If you have any other questions please feel free to post a new AnswerHub question or ask here.

Thank you!

Tim

If you try and download marketplace items for an older version, say 4.1 or 4.2, does it also say Subscribe to Download? Is it only for 4.3?

I figured it out. Apparently there is no 4.3 content yet, I waited for a few hours and 4.3 versions of content in the market just gone, I can’t select them anymore. Maybe the Launcher somehow shows “Subscribe to Download” button on things that are not yet ready… because I still see it on Platformer Game page for 4.1.0 and 4.2.0 versions.

I am on a mac and have been having this problem since yesterday along with the 4.3 preview not downloading properly. I subscribed last week and have never had this problem before. I have restarted everything like 30 times so I don’t think its my computer setup.

Hi Mykal,

I posted this above but reposting here for your reference for things to try:
