Bright Translucent material kills lighting

I turned shadows etc off of the plane I put the Translucent Material on, the translucent material is just unlit with a gradient 0-1 for the alpha and a emissive color:

With a white emissive color it is killing the lighting, the lighting on the legs is completely gone, rendering it in a flat grey:

With a black emissive color it is not killing the lighting, the lighting on the legs remains clearly visible:

Note, I really only changed the emissive color here, nothing on the alpha. It is showing Lighting Only and Bloom is turned off, that blurred edges it just the slight DOF. It also looks like a dark color makes it more transparent but when viewed in the material editor it looks correctly.

What I just like to do here is to make it fade to white while still having lighting on the legs.

Hello Davision,

I would like to gather some more information so that I may test this issue.

1.) Which Gradient are you using? Linear, Diamond, Radial?
2.) If you would post a screenshot of the material setup you are using that way I can eliminate any discrepancies between my test and yours.
3.) You have this applied to a plain, is this a sprite, blueprint, or just a static mesh plane.

After I have this information I will attempt to reproduce this on my end and determine what could be causing this and work toward the solution you want.
