How can I fix this static mesh distortion?

I’m getting this ‘U’ shaped bending / distortion on these wooden slats. After looking through other answer hub posts, the only lead I have is that this might have something to do with depth bias refraction? Is there any way around this warping on my static mesh?

It is called Moire Effect and it’s something quite difficult to get rid of in your case. You could try creating an LOD mesh that breaks the illusion and set that LOD to show up at the distance you start to see the effect.

How might I do that exactly? Creating the LOD mesh, that is.
