Material shader that will slowly reveal model

I have made a 3d printer with animations, and the idea is that our character model will be 3d printed. The model has 6 materials, and im trying to figure out how to make it look like hes being printed. This will be done in matinee and I know how to work in matinee once I figure out how the shader will work. I have tried morphing but it just dosent look good. So what I would like to do is, slowly reveal the model from the bottom to his head as the printer prints, and its platform slowly moves down.

A link to see the 3d printer animation, as you can see the platform starts at the top and will slowly move down as the characters lower section to head is revealed.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Comatos -

Here is a setup which uses a World Position versus Actor Position to make a gradient for fading in a mesh. You will need to adjust the gradient bias and size based on your mesh, this sample project is based on the TTP (default Skeletal Mesh Model)

Thanks, I’ll try this when I get home!
