Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Particular FBX imports crashes UE4

Hey all, Previously I've never had any issues with importing FBX files into UE4. Yesterday I was importing some new assets and every time I would select the FBX file, UE4 would crash. I imported my targa texture files without any issues, but the FBX keeps causing problems.

I'm using Maya 2016, and I exported the file as a 2014/2015 FBX, as well as a 2013 FBX, but both versions crash the program. Importing other FBX files are fine, so it's just this one.FBX I have no idea what'd be causing this.

Thanks

Hello iammissjacqui,

I am not quite sure what is causing the fail. I was able to reproduce the crash on importing the side table. I opened the .fbx in maya and then exported it as a .obj file. This seems to fix the issue. It imports on it's side and you will have to modify the alignment when you import so that it faces up.
