VR Preview glitches out and is mostly green

Hey everyone,

I have this wierd problem where the VR Preview works fine the first time after launching the editor but glitches out if I start it a second time.
Switching between Modes with F1, F2 and F3 shows, that only the Lit Mode (F3) is glitched out.
Building lighting seems to fix this sometimes but the green returns again the 2nd time I start a VR preview.

The black parts in image below is void.

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this or how I can fix it?
Or did anyone encounter this problem aswell?

Your help would be much appreciated

Hello Congaz2,

I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. What VR device are you using?
  4. If it is an oculus, what runtime are you currently using?
  5. Could you check to make sure your graphics drivers are up to date?

Hello Rudy,

  1. I can not reproduce this issue on a clear project. Not even on a fresh level of the same project.

  2. I will try to narrow it down but was unable to do so yet. As soon as I have more time I will try further.

  3. Oculus DK2

  4. 0.8.0.0

  5. Yes I am. (GTX 660 but I will get a 980 soon)

In the mean time I figured out how to work around this without restarting the Editor. If I do a viewport preview between two VR Previews everything works fine.

Okay so I managed to narrow the problem down to a Skylight I was using.
Here are the settings I changed from the default on the skylight and on the cubemap (im using the one that comes with ue4).
Since I know now how to work around this it is not an important issue for me but it would be interessting to hear if you guys can replicate this problem.

Have a nice day!

Hello Congaz2,

I am happy to hear that you have a workaround for this issue. To answer your question, I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. I am going to mark the comment with your workaround as the answer to this issue until a reproducible test case can be found. Thank you for your information and time.

Make it a great day
