Seen this issue all over the place and have tried every workaround I could find.
Downloaded the Epic Games Launcher and as soon as I open it, be it as administrator or not, it crashes on the “please wait” screen. Nothing moves, have to shut down via Task Manager. Every now and then it will open but will just sit on “Please Wait” with the progress bar moving… but never loads anything.
Without getting in to the actual thing I cannot get a debug report, but here is my DxDiag report.

Could be, but I know of others who have actually managed to get it working in the last day.
Found a work around. It seems the launcher that downloads via the Shadow Complex Remastered page is actually out of date and won’t connect to their servers. You have to force the executable to update…
Right-click the Epic Games Launcher shortcut/executable
Properties
Shortcut tab
In “target” put a space after the final quotation marks, then type -http=wininet
Apply and OK
Run the launcher again and it should bounce straight in to an update download and you’ll likely get a message at some point saying the launcher is out of date, do you want to fix. Click fix and all should be well.
