[UNREAL ENGINE 4.10 VIDEO DRIVER CRASH (AMD)]

Hello everyone.
Yesterday I decided to switch to Unreal from Unity for a couple of reasons, so I downloaded Unreal Engine 4.10 and went to sleep.
Today I started Unreal to look around and start learning, I started the FPS blueprint project and looked around and everything worked perfectly, but when I pressed play it crashed, but not directly!
It crashed after exiting the playmode and then re-entering, or it could crash if I pressed (F11) for fullscreen. It was basicly all random.
And to te be extra specific: Unreal didn’t crash. The video driver did!
I have a: 4096MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series.
It has never crashed before due to a game or even Unity. I even tried to look for answers, and I couldn’t find anything that helped.

I had a ton of issues with my AMD card so I ditch it for an nVidia. The issue was just like what is happening to you…driver crashes. Now, this was like 4 months ago and I know there has been several AMD driver updates, are you running the latest version? Also, check out these threads for more information:

My issues was with the R9 380. I grabbed my son’s R9 280 and it worked fine… but, the screen would blink unless I forced the AMD card into high performance mode. I simply couldn’t take all of the issues with AMD cards, so I switched. Maybe I have been unlucky… No issues whatsoever with nVidia.

Not the best welcome to the Unreal Engine, but stick with it, its an amazing engine!

Have you updated to the latest version of the driver?
