iOS Resolution Issues

I am quite new with iOS and have only recently purchased an iPad to begin testing. I am having a pretty serious issue with resolution and screen cropping.

This is what it looks like on my iPad (iPad Air 2):

This is what it is correctly displaying on my Android (Samsung S5):

Notice the score in the top right (white font number) does not show because it is cropped on the iPad. Most of the ‘G’ of “Game Over” is cropped as well.

ALSO the square particles coming from behind the yellow score interface are all distorted on the iPad. It looks like they are plagued with little black pixels. Don’t mind the particle or background color - they are both random but there should be no black.

Tehhax,

Is this only happening with this specific project that you’ve made or are you able to replicate it on each project? What OS version is your iOS device on? What is the target platform on your project?

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

Hey,

We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.

Thank you!

Hi ,

Thank you for getting back to me and i apologize for the slow response I’ve had my hands full trying to figure out this wild new world of iOS development.

  • I have not encountered this issue with the one other project that I’ve exported to iOS. The UI in that project seems to be scaling just fine.
  • I’m using the most recent version (9.2 at the time of writing this) of iOS on the iPad.
  • The target platform was Desktop / Console but changing it to mobile / tablet (high quality) didn’t seem to do anything.

Here are some relevant screenshots:

I thought the issue was the main player camera using “constrain aspect ratio” but that apparently wasn’t it. Although it did get rid of the black bars at the top and bottom which is nice.

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

Thank you for this detailed information. Did you add anchors onto each of your different images attached to your UI?
