Morph target export FROM UE4?

Hi all,

I’m trying to export some characters from both the Kite Demo and Infiltrator asset.
I can easily export the FBX from the asset browser ( or using persona and the Extract button ), but looks like the mesh itself won’t export the morph targets., even if they’re triggered during the animation.
I also tried to add manual keyframes in order to have an animation just for the morph targets, but the exported animation still do not have the morph targets.

Is there a way to export also them or is impossible?

Are you sure what you are trying to export are actual morph targets? Do they show up on the right side, if you open up the mesh?

I have a couple of meshes with morph targets myself, and when I export and then import one back into the project, it still has morph targets. Did you check “import morph targets” in the import settings?..

Or are you trying to open the exported mesh with another application?

I’m trying to export, for example, the Boy from the Kite demo, which is full of morph targets, but if I export that from UE4 and I import that into Maya/Max I have the full skeletal rig but not the morph targets.
Is not something I created, is UE4 content I’m trying to export.

Well, I only use blender on occasion…

But simply by re-importing an exported mesh you can easily verify that morph targets are being exported. If Maya/Max don’t import them, maybe there are plugins or something? You probably have already tried all the import options. All I know is that .fbx isn’t always .fbx, like with most file types. There are also a billion converters for different model formats to be found on the web. But trying to achieve something that way can be pretty frustrating.

Thought I might help, because I have been working on skeletal meshes for about 2 weeks now, manipulating vertices, bones, morph targets (…) - but all within the engine.

same here. seems like asset export won’t include morph target.

Is there something new in this topic? still impossible to export Morph targets to FBX?

I’m looking for it, too. When using the fbx converter of the automatic desk, it was confirmed that the morph value of the morph target used in Unreal was transferred to the blend shape key, but the animation key value of the morph target held by Unreal Engine does not seem to exceed.
