Character Blueprint and funny animation

Ok, so I have two questions and since they’re similar in a sense I thought it would be ok to combine them. My first question would be the character movement. I set up my character and everything is fine, but if I turn the camera the character moves facing that direction. So if I looked down or up my character and camera will be looking in the direction I point the camera to, instead of just the camera moving only. A small fix I did was just to copy the Unreal Blue man character Blueprint, but I would like to know what causes this so I can do it myself and just not copy and paste. My second question is when I turn to the right or left my character moves and faces that direction. When I stop moving, my character snaps back to facing forward, or at least where the camera is facing, and is not facing the direction it was moving last. Again, a fix I did for this was to copy over the Unreal Blue man character Blueprint, but I niced when I changed directions. From forward to forward right then forward to forward left, it snapped to that direction instead of smoothing turning. How would I fix this?

Hi SoraJR,

You can adjust your INPUTs under Project Settings to change how your character/camera is controlled or adjust how your camera reacts to the mouse in the Details panel of your Boom (In your character Blueprint) by checking or unchecking “Use Pawn Control Rotation” as shown below:
