No Planes in geometry mode

I was following along with this tutorial:

and about 2 and a half minutes in he places a flat plane into the world. In my geometry mode browser I have box, cone, cylinder, three types of stairs and a sphere. Am I missing where the planes are hidden?

I think they have deleted that in the UE4 4.1 because I also can’t find it :frowning:

Hi,

I can confirm that planes were removed for 4.1. They were considered buggy and hard to use correctly. Other primitive types were also removed. If this is a big problem for you, the functionality is still there and can be re-enabled in the source.
I can put in a request to get it re-instated, if you need this functionality?

Ah true! I was reading this on mobile so couldn’t stream the video. That is an old version of the editor.

FWIW, the asset (or something similar to it) he is using is still there, inside the Engine content at Engine/StaticMeshes/EditorPlane.uasset.

Also this video seems to be of an older version of the editor that was used in the Beta. He is using a static mesh and not geometry BSP shapes as well.

Yea I use flat planes all the time. Couldnt find it in Engine/StaticMeshes/EditorPlane.uasset.

I guess I could import one from Maya?

Yep, just import one from a 3d program
