Error message when trying to reinstall launcher

Hello,

So, each time I try to reinstall the Epic Games Launcher (Which I deinstalled in a dirty way a couple month back, by just deleting files, and I know this was a really stupid thing to do), I get this error message.

I tried to clean all references to the old installation with CCleaner and some Registry Editing (This was a stupider idea, I think, but well… ^^), but I can’t seem to find what triggers the .msi to detect there was a previous version installed. If I could bypass this detection, the rest would go smoothly. Could someone help me?

You’ll find a copy of my DxDiag and the installer log with this post.[link text][2] [link text][3]

Hi Lerenwe,

More than likely there are some registry entries still hiding out. Please refer to this post (and the post linked in THAT post). If this doesn’t resolve the issue for you, please let me know.

Thanks for your reply, it seems quite helpful, but in the meantime, I managed to get a workaround.

I actually downloaded a .msi package editor called InstEd.
I opened the Epic Games Launcher Installer in it, searched for every row that contained “RemoveExistingProducts” with Ctrl+F, then deleted every of those rows.
I then saved the changes, opened the installer again, and voila, that did the trick.

I think this solution is a bit messier than yours, but that was enough for me, thanks again for the reply =)
