Package size is huge please help

hey guys, like the question says, I’ve got a really small game I’ve made using blueprints in unreal. When I try package the game, it results in a 991mb file. but what I don’t understand is the project folder for the game is only 285mb.

So where is the extra 700mb coming from? I have no starter content in the game and had seen from other posts to delete the saved folder before trying to package, but it all results in the same final size.

I am on a mac, but have noticed these problems exist for widows users too?

I am very new to unreal and this is my first game I’m trying to get out, even getting it down to half the current size would help tremendously and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

I have looked into the issue, and have discovered that we have a bug in our system (UE-22192) related to Compress Cooked Packages not working properly. This is most likely the cause of your increased package size. I will provide updates relating to this issue as they become available.

Have a great day,

Sean Flint

That is fantastic to hear it is being looked at! Thank you so much for letting me know! I look forward to this being fixed!
