Real world Dem data

I have srtm data which I want to bring in, and I downloaded it from open topography.

Its not a square tiff, and wondering is there no way to import it via say world machine or similar, by using actual ‘rectangluar’ data, instead of square data that ue4 seems to need ?

I am trying to avoid stretching to fit 8193x8193, etc.,as that will ruin the look entirely and I aim for precision.

I think for me anyway , the source being open topopgraphy, oddly enough sends data that isnt’ sqare (ha), hence the problem.

Using say usgs or say SRTM Tile Grabber , works fine even if its not convenient ( no visible specifics).

USGS is prob. the best option even if slightly annoying to use.
