Can't Launch Unreal Engine 4.10.1[SOLVED]

I can’t get unreal engine to launch, every time I try it crashes. I can neither open nor create a new project. UE 4.10.0 was running normally. I regret to have installed the update.

EDIT: The solution is delete everything inside the folder LocalDisk:/Users/“YourName”/AppData/Local/UnrealEngine and reinstall Epic Games Launcher and Unreal Editor 4.10.1

It affects me too! Same problem: after upgrade to 4.10.1 the editor won’t start and the message reported is like this one!!

Hello,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the engine, including deleting any files related to 4.10.1 in the directory that you install your engine to?

Yes, I already tried it. Deleted all versions and installed, the error persisted. And even I installed the 4.9.2 which also functioned normally.

Could you provide your latest logs so that we can have a look at what could be causing the issue? You can find these on your LocalDisk\Users"YourName"\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine\4.10\Saved\Logs

Can you attempt to try and open a project without the Oculus plugged in? I noticed that in your logs there was mention of a possible issue with the Oculus runtime. Let me know if that makes a difference.

What? O.o
I didn’t even have an oculus

Did you delete this folder when you reinstalled? C:/Users/Kilowog01/AppData/Local/UnrealEngine
If not, you will want to attempt to reinstall again, and delete the DerivedDataCache that is in that location.

I will try it. I will uninstall Epic Launcher too, when done everything I come back here with the results.

Delete all files in the folder and reinstall everything works great. Thank you so much!

Oh that’s wonderful!!! I have no dsl connection these days so I had no chances to try but I’m using Oculus and your workaround seems really inherent to my situations! Thank you very much!!!

Hi,

I have the same problem, I have make all what you say but the problem stay… Have you got maybe an other solution.

Best regards

I can finally confirm your solution: deleting the file “DerivedDataCache” fixed the problem. Note: I’m actually using an DK2 Rift, but I can’t tell if it’s related to this issue

Hello,

Could you please detail exactly which solutions you have tried?

where is DerivedDataCache…?

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine\EngineVersion#

You should be able to find it here.

Have a great day!
