How do I set up an anim montage on a non-player skeletal mesh and reference it in Blueprint?

I want my be able to use anim montages on non-player skeletal meshes, and then reference those montages in my scene blueprint.
Basically, I would like some pointers on how to set up a basic anim montage for a skeletal mesh, which I can use to blend animations etc. in BP.
