iPhone 6s Plus Launch image using portrait as landscape

iPhone 6s Plus Launch image is using portrait image as the landscape image.

MacBook Pro osx 10.10.5
UE4.10.1

Launch images I’ve tested work ok on iPhone 5, 5s and iPad but the 6s Plus is using the portrait image as the landscape image.
The game is set to support landscape only, no matter what orientation i hold the 6s Plus It always uses the portrait image stretched to fit landscape images attached.

We’re seeing something similar on the iphone 6 and 6 plus where the game launches and shows the landscape image in portrait for just a second before it switches back to landscape.

So, when I change the images for iPhone 6 Plus, the portrait size tells me that the image inserted is the incorrect size:

When you create these splash screens, you’re suppose to insert them with the correct size for landscape or portrait.

Looking forward to hearing back from you, thanks!

We don’t see those warnings, so I believe ours are the right size.

I took the image that you provided and used it. Can you provide me all of the images you used?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I can’t on this thread since they are for an unannounced, unreleased game. I’ll start a new question for my issue since it may be different than this issue. Though it does seem related.

I understand, thank you!

Thank you!

hi Sam, sorry I’ve been away, had to take the kids to Lapland to help the Elves build toys for christmas. I’ve looked into it further and changed the images and get the same problem on the 6s Plus. it doesn’t seem as i originally quoted “using portrait as landscape” it just seems to be distorting the landscape image. I’ve attached the landscape and portrait files i am now using.

So I loaded these images up in a blank project and launched onto my iPhone 6S Plus. I was unable to verify this however, I did put a bug in earlier for the 6S where this issue is happening. That bug is referenced as: UE-24753.

Hey,

I couldn’t replicate this issue on the 6S Plus but I could on the 6S. This issue was reported as UE-24753. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you!

Hi there,

We’re also experiencing this issue, has there been a fix for this yet?

And if so would it be possible to get the specific Git commit? We’re trying to fix this for our current title.

Cheers.

UE-24753 is fixed, but it hasn’t been released or verified quite yet. Hopefully it’ll make it into 4.11.

Thanks!

Any traction on this? I’d like to pull the fix from the git repository if it’s made it there. Thanks!

UE-24753 is fixed, verified in 2872835.
