Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[Closed] Is it possible to hide the Movies folder when a project is packaged?

Hey Everyone,

I've been working on a project which is doing some pretty cool stuff with media players and I've noticed that the videos I store in the Movies file (as outlined here https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/MediaFramework/index.html) are actually fully accessible once I package the project too.

We would like to keep as much of our technique as under-wraps / secure as possible, and the video files are unfortunately a big clue. Is there any way to package the videos in such a way that the end-user will be unable to retrieve or view these movie files?

Thanks very much,

Cpt.

Hi CaptainFacepalm,

Due to the large volume of questions and comments concerning the Engine, we did not have a chance to respond to your post at the time you submitted it and, thus, the issue is now outdated. If you are still experiencing this issue in the current release of the Engine, please make a new post for assistance.
