Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Epic Games Launcher - Black Screen

Hello, I have lost count on how many times I have re downloaded the epic games launcher only to receive a black screen when I open the launcher. I have went through a number of forums and tried all troubleshooting techniques myself. One included adding "-OpenGL" to the end of my target in the shortcuts properties, no luck.

I was really hoping to take advantage of the free download for Shadow Complex. Can someone please assist me in the walk through for fixing this issue?

Thanks,

Hello nperalez,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble. As you have two GPU's, please make sure that the launcher and all associated Epic products are using dedicated GPU.

If that does not work, could you please verified that you have tried the troubleshooting steps here.

So I noticed that if I decide to run the launcher with my intel GPU, the launcher works perfectly. I'd like to instead use my Nvidia card. What other Epic products should be enabled for the Nvidia gpu as well? I seem to only the find the launcher as the only application. The Nvidia drivers are up to date as well. . . . I tried the troubleshooting suggestions with no luck. :(

Thank you for the help!

Hello again!

I have an MSI laptop as well and am able to run the launcher without issue. Can you put the system in "high performance mode" so that it will use the discreet GPU exclusively to see if that fixes the issue?
