Epic Games Launcher stuck on "Please Wait" - Trying to download Unreal Engine 4

I am trying to download Unreal Engine. I have not used it before but would like to start. However, I have installed the “Epic Games Launcher” and it is just stuck loading on “Please Wait”, with the orange triangle sign and the message “We are currently experiencing connection issues and are retrying”.

I have googled around and found similar questions but no clear solution. It is not my firewall as I have already tried disabling that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

I cannot generate debug logs as the launcher is stuck and there is no gear icon to click.

I am having the exact same issue you are. I am thinking it might be their servers that are having the issues.
If you highlight the red triangle it states “We are currently experiencing connection issues and are retrying”.
I am thinking this isn’t on our side. Might have to wait it out a bit and see if a few hours brings it back up.

I use Kaspersky as my protection. Try logging in offline mode. See if Unreal Engine 4 has any In/Out data flow in Task Manager.

Hi Deangetsalife,

Try the troubleshooting steps in this section of the troubleshooting guide.

If nothing works, follow the steps here to generate your Debug Logs. Post them here, along with your Dxdiag/system specs.

Hi Deangetsalife,

If you need anything else, feel free to ask.

So, apparently, adding “-http=wininet” without the quotes at the end of the target path of my shortcut seemed to have made it work. I don’t know if this is temporary but it works.
I hope this helps.

-http=wininet WORKS, ADD IT AT THE END OF YOUR TARGET SHORTCUT MY HOMIEZ
