Apex cloth is shrinking

As far as I know, Apex Clothing does not like scaling -at all-. It just won’t follow up no matter what. Make sure every body part in that mesh is 1.0 scale-base, and don’t scale it further up in Unreal.

well, i’ve been battling apex cloth for an hour now, and it seems like it’s going to be one of those things that are more a pain than it’s worth,
i’m probably better off just rigging and animating the cloth the traditional way.
anyways, for some reason when i import the cloth from max 2013, the cloth shrinks the part i apply it to.

figured it out. the issue was caused by a discrepancy between the system unit setup in 3ds max, and the fbx exporter scaling factor. the system unit was in inches, but the fbx units were in cm.
there’s no way to set the units in the apex exporter, so it uses the system unit scale by default.
i set the units scale factor in the exporter to match the system unit scale, and the cloth now works properly.
