Using pictures to share Blueprints seems really horrendous.
To quote any good infomercial: “there must be a better way!”

If not, has any ticket been opened up to address the issue of serialising blueprints into some form of plaintext?

this is a great start!
You can already do that, sort of - select the nodes you want and ctrl+c to copy them. It will fill your clipboard with the text version of the nodes. Ctrl+v to paste into another blueprint. Can’t copy variables or functions, etc. But it’s something.
Works in the material editor, too.
There’s also www.blueprintue.com to paste blueprints to, if you want to share. The layout of the pasted blueprint is absolutely horrible, though.
