Galaxy Scene Unlit - White only Particle Effects

Hi.

I’ve created a nice skybox with Spacescape that I am finally happy with… I imported without issue, but in order for it to look nice I have to set the scene to unlit. (maybe there is another way to fix that??). Anyway, I have some cool particle effects I want to put into the scene but they are ugly white only things… I started poking around the documentation site and I thought I saw something about a light particle emitter, but when I right click on my particle emitter the option for light is not available. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks…

Maybe I should have asked… How do you import a Spacescape skybox and have it look the same as in the application without setting the scene to UNLIT…?

I have found the best way to control a material you wish to look similar to that of ‘Unlit’ mode is to create an Unlit material and add a multiply scalar parameter and a power scalar parameter.

The multiply will serve as a way to control brightness and the power will serve as a way to control the contrast. I have created an example template which you can use to create your own master material which you can instance and tweak the parameters to achieve the desired look you are going for.

Master Skybox/Cubemap Material

In regards to the Light Particle Emitter, you want to make sure you are using a CPU particle emitter and not a GPU, or else the light module will not appear in the list of available modules.

You can see where I have outlined in Red the differences between the emitter types, and the available modules for the CPU emitter type.

Thanks a ton, that is REALLY neat… One odd thing though, as I move the stars get darker and when I stop they get bright again. Any clue?

Please disregard. I was in LIT on the viewport. Again, that is really cool…!

Sorry for so many posts… I’ve got a bunch of particle effects that I purchased off the marketplace and they are GPU. That would be a lot of work to change to CPU (unless I am missing something)…So, if I set the scene back to LIT (I’m setting from level BP via console command) how could I control the slight fading of the stars when I move around the viewport.
