Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Art Tool issue: "Error: No object matches name..."

Hello, I've got some issues in using the Art Tool. I hope you guys could help me on this:

When I forward the project file of my rigged characters to the animators, they are unable to open the animation interface, also they have this error on their maya 2013:

Error: ValueError: file D:/Epic Games/4.9/Engine/Extras/Maya_AnimationRiggingTools/MayaTools/General/Scripts\ART_animationUI.py line 3282: No object matches name: :hair_back_ik__anim


  • I have downloaded the updated toolset from dropbox;

  • the error only occurs on the animator's side,

I just had a similar issue with my team. Spent around 40mins trying to debug the script files... then found out the Character thumbnail was missing when "Add Character for Aniamtion". I shared the thumbnails... and Tadaaaa! Everything works fine

Sounds like they are opening the file, rather than using the 'add character for animation' menu. If they open the file, there is no namespace, so the UI doesn't know what to operate on.

Can you confirm if this is the case?

Hello , thank you for your reply. Actually, there is a namespace, but I've found the solution, instead of saving the maya file as binary, I saved it as maya ascii file and it worked perfectly fine now :)
