Hierarchical Instanced Static Mesh Component CustomDepth Pass Bug
This problem was recently posted about, however I wanted to create a new post to upgrade it to a bug report. I've confirmed that CustomDepth pass rendering does not work with the Hierarchical Instanced Static Mesh Component in both 4.10 and 4.11.

Thank you for reporting this. I've entered a ticket for this with UE-25012. Once there is a fix or any update to the ticket I'll update this post here with any relevant information.
