Ribbon particle too small to be visible. How can I make it render at a minimum size?

So I have this projectile that I’m shooting that’s supposed to simulate some kind of laser projectile. I’ve attached a Ribbon emitter to make a trail behind it, but as it travels far from the camera the Ribbon trail breaks up, probably due to the distance. See this picture.


I want it to stay “whole” so to speak, kinda similar to the beams you see in Homeworld.

Like that (they are all perfectly visible no matter the distance). So I’m wondering what I’m supposed to do to keep it from "breaking up "?
