Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Why is UE freezing when colour picker and blueprint classes opens

Hi,

When I try to open the blueprint classes and colour picker, the engine freezes. I've looked into similar issues, and what I've done to try and fix it is re-install the enginge, which seemed to fix the problem at first, but now it is back. I've also tried updating my graphic card drivers, set the engine to use the Nvidia video card by default and tried to verify the version. I was wondering if there's any other solutions I could try? Having to re-install the engine everyday isn't really a viable option.

Thank you.

I seem to have found a solution. I got runtime error, and when looking into that I discovered that there is an issue with UE and Nahimic on MSI computers. I turned Nahimic off, and now the colour picker and blueprint classes works again.

What is Nahimic?

Nahimic is an audio software that is supposed to "boost the gaming experience" or something like that. So far it's just been annoying to me as it adds alot of reverb to the sound which I don't necessarily want and apparently doesn't like Unreal. Haha.

Hey furubuske,

Thanks for tracking that down and leaving an update with your solution. I've added MSI Nahemic to our Software Conflicts page.

I'd prefer finding a way to make it work in Unreal, at least for now, seeing as I'm working on a university assignment due in a week. :P
