Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

perforce simultaneous level editing?

Hello, I'd like to know how can multiple people make changes to the same level (for example adding lights, adding assets to the level, or making lightmass) by using perforce.

I know that one can check out an asset, make changes and check in, whilst all other people wait until that asset is checked in.

But the thing that I don't understand is how can multiple people make changes to the level simultaneously.

Also is there any way that I sync all the assets at the same time, instead of going one by one and syncing them.

Thanks.

It is not possible to edit level simultaneously using perforce. Some time ago I noticed the plugin: MultiEdit - Collaborative Level Editing Plugin whicho should enable this option. Unfortunately this plugin won't be release until it will be finished. So probably never...

Another aproach is to devide the level on smaller parts and use level machine to connect them. This way you can work on single but smaller part of level.

Thank you for the reply, but can you elaborate on how to use level machine to accomplish this?

Open the world settings and check the box labeled "Enable World Composition"

With this option you will be able to set levels in desired position. You can read about it more on: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/LevelStreaming/WorldBrowser/

Great, this is exactly what I need.

Also is there any way that I sync all the assets at the same time, instead of going one by one and syncing them.
