What is a Composited Blueprint?

Looking at the playerstarts and noticed there is something called “create composted blueprint”. Ive searched the documentation and found nothing on this. My question is simply what is it? and what it may be used for?

Thanks

Good to know Thanks!

Hah, this terrible name is my fault - it was worse. What it does is a bit complicated to sum up shortly. It takes all the selected objects, takes all their components and then combines them into a single blueprint, and then replaces the selected objects with a single blueprint. So if you had a mesh on the wall and placed a light inside of it to make a lamp, you could select the light and the mesh and use the replace with composited blueprint to create a blueprint of that set.

If anyone comes up with a better name…

Cheers,
Nick

Prefab Blueprint

Blueprint container.
Nested Blueprint, etc :3

Why does it need to have a name? Just make the box read “Make blueprint from selection” or something.

You can make a composited blueprint with a single selection so anything like prefab, or composited gets killed with that.

Composited blueprint isnt really bad in the context but if you are looking for simpler name then I suggest “Create Grouped Blueprints”

Hmm, can’t find that option (4.7.3).

I asked several days ago how to to this here: 4.7.3: Convert child actors to components? - Programming & Scripting - Epic Developer Community Forums

So, this is basically the answer? Is it possible to add other actors of the scene to an EXISTING Blueprint, too? How?

“Merge Blueprints”
