Microsoft Surface UE4

Is it good to go with UE4 game and packaging on Microsoft Surface? And what is the procedure of packaging the game on the Microsoft Surface, just standard Windows packaging solution?

I own a Surface 3, so I can’t talk to the 4. But, the standard RAM is not enough to really use UE4…and…my SSD (while fast) is just too small. The i5 is also the mobile version which is a bit slower and the worst is that it uses the built in Intel graphics card. Also, having duel monitors is almost a must…

As for packaging, it should work just fine because its Windows 10… I would consider using a different machine…

One more thing… If you compile from source, it will take a LONG time… Like, you will want to go watch a baseball game long. OK, not that long, but…its not fun.

Thanks for the answer! Well I am not planing to run huge games on it. It will be simple game with some gameplay logic, I think it should go fine peformance wise. I just wanted to be sure it is totally possible to run the game on it.

Ahh… I misunderstood you… You are not planing on MAKING the games on it, right? You just want to run smaller games on it, yeah, should be OK. Mark as answered please so other folks can easily find stuff. (it classifies differently).

Hi sorry I need to piggyback on this topic, we tried running a low poly game on a Surface Pro 3 and it was a slideshow. So how do you invoke the tablet optimizations for Android and iOS if the tablet runs a full WindowsOS?
