Distributing modified engine source code for dissertation inside university

Hi,

I’ve been working on a dissertation, for which I’ve implemented some new functionality in Unreal Engine 4. I wanted to check whether I can distribute a modified version of the engine’s source code around for the few people at university who will be grading it, or if I’d only be allowed to distribute a binary of the test project I made to demonstrate the functionality.

Given that my university is a licensee of UE4, I believe this should be fine for me to do under part b of the “Allowed forms of Distribution and Sublicensing” in the EULA, but I just wanted to be certain. Any other info anyone can provide would also be welcome.

Thanks!

You are allowed to distribute UE4 source to another UE4 licensee, and you can distribute a binary to anyone (assuming it doesn’t have editor functionality).

Thanks for clarifying this for me!
